Cruise the Bay or Beach It
Embarking from the beautiful d’Albora Marina in Nelson Bay you can enjoy our tranquil waterways on a variety of different tours.
Dolphin and whale watching cruises are by far the most popular in our area with playful dolphins making a daily appearance in the bay and the spectacular Yacaaba and Tomaree Headlands. During the winter months the boats can also show you the migrating Humpback whales. Cruises can include lunch, boom net rides, slippery slides and underwater hydrophones for listening to the dolphins play.
Several operators offer Evening Dinner cruises for the romantic at heart. Aboard a fully licensed boat offering a gourmet selection of food you will cruise around the bay. Dance the night away with fabulous entertainment.
If you really want to get away, you need a day trip to Broughton Island. Located approximately 12 nautical miles from Nelson Bay, this island comprises of sandy beaches, volcanic peaks and crystal waters abundant with marine life. Snorkelling, diving, swimming and fishing are must do’s on Broughton Island.
Take the ferry from Nelson Bay to Tea Gardens. Relax as you cruise across the harbour from d’Albora Marina in Nelson Bay and up the Lower Myall River to Tea Gardens. Some of the best beach and rock fishing takes place in Port Stephens. There are two large bait and tackle shops in the area, Tackleworld in Nelson Bay and BCF at Taylors Beach.
Whether it is off shore, beach, rock or estuary fishing you are looking for, the various operators in our area have the charter for you. Jet ski hire is available from Nelson Bay Jet Ski and Aqua Action Jet Skis located at the d’Albora Marinas in Nelson Bay. Bookings are essential and photo ID is required. No experience or licence is required.

Port Stephens is the home to the well known Horizons golf course. Horizons is an 18 hole international standard golf course in the top 10 of resort courses in Australia. There is also 4 other golf courses within a short drive including Nelson Bay Golf course – 27 hole, The Palms Golf Course and David Grahams Golf Course. Pacific Dunes is a new 18 hole Golf Course situated at Medowie approximately 30 mins from Nelson Bay.
